What is the dress code for Mariposa Cruises?
For evening cruises, appropriate attire is business casual to dressy. Men traditionally wear slacks and sport coats, with or without ties. Women wear dresses or nice pants, sensible shoes also recommended, soft soles and or safety shoes for men. We do not recommend T-shirts, jeans, shorts or sneakers in the evening. Afternoon cruises are generally more relaxed, and casual attire is fine.
Boarding
What is "Boarding Time" and "Cruising Time?"
"Boarding Time" is the earliest our guests may board the ship. Typically we begin boarding 1/2 hour prior to the "Cruise Time." Usual boarding is at 6:30 p.m. with cruise from 7-10 p.m.
Cancellations
What is your cancellation policy?
There are no refunds or exchanges. All sales are final. Rain or shine.
Coast Guard Regulations
Is the vessel Coast Guard certified?
Yes. Mariposa Cruises is Coast Guard certified and inspected annually to adhere to strict safety regulations. Our navigation and service staff participate in regular safety drills.
Dancing
What kind of dance music do you play?
Our lunch and dinner cruises feature a full range of popular dance tunes spun by some of the greatest DJs Toronto has to offer. Selections may include Rock, Blues, Line Dances, Motown, Oldies, Salsa, Hip Hop, Country, and current chart-toppers from every musical genre.

Drinks
What do drinks cost?
Mixed drinks start at $5.00 for standard brand liquors, $5.65+ for premium drinks. All beer is sold by the bottle, with domestic beer for $4.56 and imported for $5.44 . Wine begins at $5.00 per glass. Soft drinks are sold for $1.99 and juice are available for $2.21 each. These prices do not include tax or gratuity. Prices may be subject to change.
Entertainment
What type of entertainment is offered?
Mariposa Cruises begin with background music and will accompany the dining portion of your cruise. After dessert, Mariposa's also offers pulsing dance hits played by some of the city's hottest DJs. We also feature an entertaining narrated sightseeing tour on our lunch cruises.

How can I purchase gift certificates?
Mariposa Gift Certificates are available and may be purchased by calling (416) 203-0178 or toll free (866) 627-7672. All gift certificates are valid for one year.
Gratuity
Is gratuity included in the ticket price?
A service charge is included in the ticket price and covers gratuity on the food portion of the ticket price. It does not include gratuity for beverages purchased on the ship or for any outstanding personal service provided by your server. If you are planning a group event and wish to pre-pay a gratuity for your server, please contact your catering manager: (416) 203-0178.
Groups
What size group can Mariposa Cruises accommodate?
Mariposa can host parties of two to 575 guests. Groups of 20 or more should contact our group sales department at (416) 203-0178 for reservations. Parties of 1 to 19 can make reservations online, or should call (416) 203-0178 or toll free (866) 627-7672. Mariposa also offers private yacht charters for as few as 20 guests or as many as 575 aboard our flagship vessel The Captain Matthew Flinders, Northern Spirit or the Mariposa Belle.

What type of food is served?
Our cruise feature buffet meals with delicious choices prepared on board by our executive chefs and their galley staff. With advance notice, we can accommodate requests for kosher meals, and we can arrange special meals for guests with allergies. Packages
Do you offer packages to make my cruise extra-special?
Yes. We offer several enhancements and packages that can be added on to your lunch or dinner cruise package. You can choose from a private table for two, balloons, roses, bar packages and more.
Parking
Is there parking close to the ship?
Yes. Harbourfront Centre Parking operated and managed by “Standard Parking” is just a short walk from our fleet. There are also outdoor parking lots on Queen's Quay. Parking rates there vary from $10 to $20 per day. Prices are subject to change.

What type of payment do you accept?
Payment is required in full at the time of the reservation. We accept major credit cards: VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Diner's Club. We also accept traveler's checks, money orders, and certified checks. Please wire transfers to:

Will my cell phone work on the cruise?
Yes, your cell phone will work on the cruise though there are black out areas in the lake. For the comfort of other guests, we ask that cell phone conversations be held only on the outside decks.

There are no refunds or exchanges. All sales are final. We cruise year-round, rain or shine.

Seasickness
Will I get seasick?
It is highly unlikely. Mariposa Cruises sails in the calm waters of Toronto's inner harbour and on Lake Ontario.
Seating Arrangements
How is seating arranged on board?
The majority of our tables accommodate four to eight people and guests are sometimes seated with other parties.

Can you tell me a little about the ship?
Mariposa Cruises is spaciously designed with climate-controlled interior decks, outdoor strolling decks at the bow and stern, and the largest outdoor patio deck in Toronto topside. It is Coast Guard approved for up to 575 passengers. Smoking
What is your smoking policy?
All interior areas of our ship are non-smoking areas. Passengers who smoke may do so on the outdoor observation decks.
Tickets
Where can I pick up the cruise tickets?
Tickets can be conveniently picked up at boarding. The credit card used for purchase and photo ID will be required.

Do you sail in inclement weather?
Absolutely, we sail rain or shine.

How much does a wedding event on Mariposa cost?
It depends on the event (engagement party, shower, bridal luncheon, rehearsal dinner, wedding & reception, post-wedding luncheon, etc.), the number of guests, the time of year and the package you choose. Wheelchair Access / Accessibility
Mariposa provides limited Wheelchair Accessible Boarding Ramps on selected vessel. Experienced Crew will assist patrons to to the appropriate ship deck. Unfortunately, Electric Chairs and Scooters are not permitted. Wheelchair Access to all deck levels and washrooms is limited.
In most cases, the upper deck is not accessible. Washrooms on the One-Hour Harbour Tour program - The Oriole - are located on the lower levels of the vessel with staircase access only. Please contact Mariposa Cruises at 416-203-0178 for assistance in ship accessibilty and program options.
